Upper Thames is at Bourne End, another pretty Thames location. Plenty of nice walkies the other side, with a meadow with real cows in it! Allowed in the boat park on a lead, but again not in the Club. Now here is the big problem, the race office likes to shoot the first three boats with a 45 revolver. I guess there is some logic, like Martin Hunter is normally in the top three Raters, or it gets boring with the same helms winning all the time, however the race officer must be a bad shot as he always seem to miss. The problem is, not being a gun dog, the bang scares me sh**less, so to speak.
